GPU Portable Bracket 3D Printed!
In this quick article we give out the full FreeCad blueprints to make your own gpu stand!
Sometimes you need just one more GPU. But the new 4080 GPU's are giants! Unless you buy some gargantous motherboard, it hogs everything, pushing any second gpu's out on the table. So you might need to sit a card out the side, there are options, for instance, Amazon lists this part. But even it looks like it might 'flop over' if you put a big 3080ti at 58.8mm girth. There was a real shortage of customizable gpu bracket parts, so we set out to solve it!

But what if we needed something that was pedestal like, and you could make at home? Well..

At the time of writing our 3D insert sleeves were still coming via Amazon delivery. The little fitting sleeves are really recommended as a method to join parts, and should fit comfortably in the guide holes. They are very inexpensive, literally pennies, and give a very professional result. Some guys get by with a standard soldering iron, but it's recommended to buy the proper kit, or at least a sleeve guide kit.
- Just before the part hardens flip it upside down and simply push the insert flat against a table surface if you don't want to buy a professional insert tool

These were designed in FreeCAD.

For the bracket you will need to do the extrusion etc for the different sizes, or adjust as required, but it gives you a good template to work from.

If you wanted a 'cheater-chicken' method you can simply extend the x-axis of the print without doing anything else. Because the reference document is the 40.9mm bracket without doing anything at all if you are okay with slightly oblong hole brackets you can just adjust as:
36.6mm / 40.9mm ( Shrink 0.88)
58.8mm / 40.9mm (Increase 1.437)
4080ti are even more of a montrosity, and you will need to get one of these and adjust as required.
